Research Fellow in Computational Statistics – University of Wollongong
Closes 14 January.
The University of Wollongong is seeking a highly-motivated Research Fellow to conduct research in statistical methodology, statistical computing, and machine learning within the initiative “Bayesian Spatio-Temporal Analysis and Statistical Computation in Very High Dimensional Problems’’. The applicant will work with Distinguished Professor Noel Cressie, Professor Sumeetpal Singh, and Associate Professor Andrew Zammit-Mangion at the National Institute for Applied Statistics Research Australia (NIASRA) at the University of Wollongong, Australia, to (i) devise and implement effective Bayesian computational strategies, such as Markov Chain Monte Carlo and Sequential Monte Carlo, for high-dimensional statistical models such as Bayesian neural networks, and (ii) apply developed methodologies to recently-developed Bayesian neural network architectures.
