Postdoctoral Fellow in Data Science at the UNSW Data Science Hub

Closing date - 10 March:

  • $98K - $108K plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Fixed Term – 2 years (with possible extension of 12 months based on performance and funding)
  • Full-time (35 hours per week)

The role of Postdoctoral Fellow reports to the Director of the UNSW Data Science Hub and has no direct reports.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Conduct research in extreme value theory, including theoretical development, methodological implementation, application to a range of applied problems, and software development.
  • Support the progress of Honours and Masters coursework projects, and co-supervise HDR (Higher Degree Research) students in this research area.
  • Perform research collaboratively and individually, which will lead to high quality research articles for publication in internationally refereed journals.
  • Initiate, implement, and complete new research projects.
  • Develop and contribute to open source and publicly available software packages.
  • Present results of research at conferences and other venues.
  • Coordinate research activities and participate in the setting of future research directions of the project.
  • Effectively engage with the broader scholarly community.
  • Undertake administrative duties as specified by the Director and as required.
