The Curtin for Agribusiness Profitability Initiative within the Centre for Crop and Disease Management at Curtin University is a research group that brings together university expertise in data science, geographical information systems, farming systems, agribusiness, as well as spatial modelling, machine learning, computer vision, optimization and operation and econometrics.

In this research-focused position, you will further develop the research and industry engagement skills critically important for your future career and you will use your data capture, synthesis, geospatial, data visualisation and data analytical skills to create new capabilities that address industry related problems. Data sources may come from proximal sensors, data loggers, remote and/or proximal sensing imagery, industry records or ground surveys.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will engage with industry to co-design solutions to problems they face and develop questions for further research. You will create visual, data driven outputs to assist farm businesses to make critical decisions using agricultural data in an effective and timely manner.

  • 2-year, full-time fixed term contract
  • $103,101 – $122,133 per annum plus 17% superannuation
