PhD scholarship in scalable Bayesian inference (The University of Queensland)

A PhD scholarship is available at The University of Queensland as part of the ARC DECRA Scalable Bayesian inference for secure and reliable decision making. The project will focus on developing new methodology for scalable Bayesian inference, with particular interest in computational and Monte Carlo methods. Possible research directions include continuous-time and non-reversible sampling, gradient-based methods, privacy-aware inference, and scalable methods for modern statistical and machine-learning problems. The PhD candidate will be supervised by Dr Matthew Sutton.

Scholarship: AUD $39,220 per annum tax-free
EOI deadline: 23 October, 2026
Supervisor: Dr Matthew Sutton
